Awesome Tablet apps for business

Four Apps to help manage your day , finances and more.

1. Pocket Informant HD

Pocket Informant is a task based GTD (Getting things done) Calendar / Schedule app. My first impressions looking at this app is the price, at £6.99 it’s expensive. However this app delivers on all levels most notably on it’s beautiful appearance, it really feels like a virtual organiser giving you a powerful set of features to manage your day.

It’s highly configurable allowing you to set up the organiser to your preferences, going as far as even allowing you to set up templates, tags calendar views, colours, font sizes and a whole host of other options. As you would expect for this price there’s also integration wether you wan’t to use your iOS calendar or Google calendar.

What’s it for

  • Organising your day

Available on

  • Android, iOS, iPhone, iPad

 2. Accounts Tracker (formerly Accounts Free)

This is a great app for managing your finances, you can manage multiple accounts with budgets, bill reminders, reports, forecasting, expenses and more priced at £1.99 this app is good value for money and has come a long way from it original inception with the Sunday Times naming it the best personal account app in the world 2011.

It’s easy to export and import data to use in excel and has integration with DropBox for backup. The reports are fairly simple and this is the only thing I would like to see improved on this app.

What’s it for

  • Managing accounts and expenses

Available on

  • iPhone, iPad

3. Shareprice

If your lucky enough to have some spare cash to play with on the stock market or your a savvy investor then SharePrice is an essential app, with real time streaming of share prices , portfolio management and the ability to set alerts all provided free of charge including the app itself.

The app is very slick to use and it’s easy to flick through news, events forums and trades for each share.

What’s it for

  • Managing your investments
Available on

  • iPhone, iPad

4. Day One

A relatively new app designed to keep a regular diary or journal, although technically it might not belong in this review you could use it to keep notes of meetings and activities at work or home and has an added reminder function to make sure you use it. It’s very easy to use and has multiple ways of viewing diary entries.

Reasonably priced at £1.49 this app still needs some improvement one thing we would like to see is the ability to export your data.

What’s it for

  • Keeping a diary
Available on

  • iPhone, iPad, Mac Desktop
